Personal Development

At the Kingsbrook School, Personal Development is a guiding light in all that we do, as prioritising the personal development of our pupils can break down barriers to achieve all-around positive student outcomes.

 Our Values, Mission & Vision

Values:  At TKS we believe all children are entitled to an exceptional education. We believe in the value and moral imperative of character education and aim to develop our four core virtues (ambition, resilience, confidence and compassion) in our school community at every opportunity.

Mission: To be a school where everyone achieves and flourishes, guided and motivated by our character.

Vision for Personal Development: The ultimate purpose of education is to prepare our pupils for life. At The Kingsbrook School, we strive to equip our pupils with the knowledge, skills, and values to positively contribute to sustainable economies and societies and not leave anyone behind (United Nations 2022). We believe that this will ensure that our pupils are both ‘workplace ready’, and, most importantly, ‘life ready’.

How is this delivered?

Personal Development is delivered at Kingsbrook via dedicated curriculum time. These include:

1. Enquiry Lessons (1 lesson per week)

2. Year Group Assemblies (Once per week)

3. Tutor Time Sessions (4 per week).

Furthermore, we believe Personal Development to be a golden thread that is evident throughout our curriculum and daily life at Kingsbrook.
