Cycle Paths
The Kingsbrook School features on-site cycle paths, dedicated pedestrian/cycle access points, and has recently undergone a major expansion to add expanded cycle storage to accommodate its high number of cycling pupils. Positioned in the sustainable Kingsbrook development in Aylesbury, the school has one of the highest walk-and-cycle student populations in Buckinghamshire.
Cycle Paths include:
- The Old Railway Line: A prominent traffic-free cycleway runs directly through the Kingsbrook estate following the old Aylesbury-to-Cheddington railway bed, providing a scenic, safe route for families.
- Aylesbury Gemstone Routes: The wider development connects to the Aylesbury Active Travel Network, which links local neighbourhoods via color-coded, bike-friendly paths like the Platinum Way.
- Kingsbrook Estate: Many local cycle paths feed to a singular entrance to the Kingsbrook School.
Electric Charging Points
There are six on-site electric vehicle (EV) charging points available for use by both staff and visitors, including parents. These facilities support and encourage the use of electric vehicles, promoting more sustainable and environmentally friendly travel. Please see the picture below.
Safe Bike Shelter
We are expanding our cycle shelter facilities to accommodate our increasing student intake and the growing number of students who choose to walk or cycle to school. This investment supports active travel and helps promote healthier, more sustainable journeys.
Public Transport
- K1 Service: Travels between Aylesbury Bus Station, Stocklake, and Kingsbrook. It runs roughly every 30-60 minutes.
- K2 Service: Runs a circular route from Aylesbury Railway Station through the estate. It picks up from Wilstone Street (a 4-min walk) at :12 and :42 past the hour.
- Other Routes: The X4, X14, and X15 also stop at Kingsbrook (Armstrongs Fields) for wider connections to Milton Keynes.
