As a qualified Food Scientist, my career has been in FMCG companies in Global roles. I have led and managed teams globally for the last 25 years covering areas of Compliance, International Trade and Business Ethics.
I have 2 grown up children that went through schools in Aylesbury and had a great education which has shaped them into the people they are today. I have a passion for education that has served me right through my career in further educating myself at every cross roads I have come to.
My role as Chair of Governors for The Kingsbrook School lends itself to my leadership skills, managing people and making sure that we stay true to the vision, mission and principles of Insignis Academy Trust and The Kingsbrook School.

Qualified as an Electrical Engineer, my career is now within Project Management of Electrical Transmission & Distribution.
Married with two children, who both attended one of the schools within Insignis Academy Trust.
An experienced governor with 10+ experience within secondary education and previously the Chair of Governors at the Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School. My first governor appointment was that of a Parent Governor when my eldest child joined secondary school.
I am passionate to ensure all students, irrespective of their ability, have the opportunity for the best secondary education possible, preparing them for either further education or life experiences. -

Steve Evans
I was born and grew up in South Wales. Thanks in large part to the support and encouragement of my mother and grandmother, I was the first in my family to go to university, graduating from Oxford University with a degree in physics.
I subsequently joined the Shell oil company where I qualified as a management accountant. I spent thirty-four years with Shell in a wide variety of finance, project and risk management roles. I was fortunate to spend time living and working abroad before returning to the UK in 2015 and moved to Thame where I now live with my wife who recently re-trained to become a maths teacher. We have four grown-up children who benefited enormously from the diverse educational experience they gained in the various countries we lived in.
The insights into my children's various schools plus my wife's experience working as a teacher sparked my interest in education. I am delighted to have the opportunity to volunteer as a governor at The Kingsbrook School.

I am a mother of daughters who went through their entire education in state schools in Aylesbury. I am currently a Trading Standards Officer and my main role is to prevent and safeguard people who have been scammed or are vulnerable to being scammed. I have been fortunate in having a number of different careers including being a Forensic Scientist, Preschool Assistant, Outreach Officer and a Thames Valley Police Case Investigator.
In these roles, I have encountered and supported children and adults who were socially isolated for a number of reasons including long term unemployment, low confidence, unhappy schooling, mental health issues and few (or no) qualifications. It is through these experiences I have learned the value of a positive educational journey to all children.

All my career has been spent in the education sector working in a variety of roles and settings. Having started as a primary teacher in London, I have also taught in Aylesbury and the surrounding area working with children from early years through to parents in adult education.
I have held many voluntary roles include chair of a school parent-teacher association, governance of a pre-school, and parent governor in a local Aylesbury secondary school. I hope my varied experience will help me in my new role at The Kingsbrook School.
I firmly believe in working towards a more equitable education system for our children, whatever their background or need: I support the Insignis Academy Trust vision to provide an excellent and inclusive educational experience for all local children. As a parent of a child with a physical disability I have a particular interest in supporting children with special educational needs to flourish and achieve their goals. I am really excited to be involved with The Kingsbrook School as it offers new opportunities and a breath of fresh air for the local community.

I am currently in my first year of teaching since qualifying as a teacher in 2024. My role as a staff governor is to share thoughts of the staff and support the school from both a teaching aspect and a governance side. I have held various roles as a trustee for different charities in the past and I am excited to bring this experience into the school setting as a staff governor at The Kingsbrook School.

I started my career in education studying for my PGCE at the Institute of Education in London. I spent the following decade working as a Teacher of, and later a Head of Geography in a range of independent and international schools all around the world, working with thousands of fantastic children between the ages of 11 and 18. Since moving to Buckinghamshire (from Bangkok!) in 2023 I have built a 6 figure business developing high quality and affordable accommodation for professionals in North Northamptonshire. Outside of work, I enjoy playing pickleball and travelling and I have the aim to visit 5 new places every year.I hope my wealth of experience in education, both as a teacher and a leader, as well as my passion for ensuring all students receive outstanding and diverse learning opportunities firmly aligns my values with that of The Kingsbrook School and I am thrilled to be a part of the governance team as this exciting school grows and flourishes.
The Kingsbrook School became part of Insignis Academy Trust (IAT) in September 2022 when the school opened. IAT is a Buckinghamshire based multi academy trust comprising of five schools - Princes Risborough School, Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School, Sir William Ramsay School, The Kingsbrook School, The Mandeville School and Ashmead Combined School. We have 3800 students on roll and employ approximately 400 staff across the Trust. Insignis is Latin for “outstanding” or “remarkable” which is the ambition for all IAT schools.
IAT Vision: To provide an exceptional educational experience for young people locally
Governance at school level is delegated to a Local Governing Body which supports and challenges the school in driving aspirations, outcomes and personal development for all students.
